Maria's film recommendation: Zeitgeist

So Maria recommended I and other people see this film on religion. It's a documentary. A couple online posters comments on the film to get you interested. My favourite:

"This movie is more important than Ubuntu, more important than Ron Paul, more important than Kevin Rose (sorry Kevin), more important than atheism or religion, or even legalized marijuana, it is more important than any fad on Digg could ever be. We must get this out to as many people as humanely possible. It's time to start waking up society!"

More important than legalized marijuana hear? Hee. I don't know who the other people are in the quote I must admit.

But seriously, I think this one says more about what the film may be about:

"Zeitgiest is a stunning film. Who would have thought that there have been at least a dozen other religions in the past with a son of god born to a virgin mother on Dec 25th. Christianity is the repetition of an old myth. The catholic church moved the Christian day of worship from Saturday (the 7th day of rest) to "Sun"day (the 1st day) a long time ago for a reason, even though there is nowhere in the bible where God gave anyone the authority to do that. Christians are worshiping the pagan sun and don't even know it. Time for me to get out of Christianity altogether."

You can watch the entire film in parts on Youtube. Just go here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Mzciu8HvfwA&feature=related and then follow the sections one by one. Here's the first section.
